#ootd: The Day I Wore Flats

It happens about once a year. Literally. I walk into a random store, searching for random items and BANG. I spot them. I look at them hard before getting any closer. Eventually do, eventually look at it's make, features, pushing details, ultimate functionality and then I walk away. Leave the store, come back in two weeks, if they are there, I try them. If they're not? We were never meant to be anyway.

Flats.

I'm a height enhancing aficionado. All 5'7 of me. Even a little. The instant effect of a heel matches my swag much more then anything ground level. The utter investment in anything else takes the realist in me to run a full blown protest in my head. I'm considering the sneaker trend. They just have to be really cool. Anywho, against all my dramatic footwear beliefs, every girl needs one pair. In a standard but customized style. I like to go with a neutral that suits me best (my last were lavender suede) so I went with a deep almost mustard cognac in a rather classic ballerina style. Picked these up at H&M for $12.99 on an evening my feet were throbbing from walking almost a mile in wedged booties. Signs couldn't be any clearer right? In sporting them for the first time I was looking for a casual look to the core and went for my converse, per routine and these babes were right next door. Thought i'd try something different. Against my misty blue sweatshirt and plaid addition, they made a pretty casually cool introduction to the world.

I'm not too sure if my grandmother would approve of my coming down from my sky-high attitude but i'm digging it, tis the season to break routines and maybe even a little value.  Wear a style you don't frequent and you might find another version of you, you just hadn't embraced yet.
