NYFW day One:
Since arriving back in the city to find New York Fashion Week very much HAPPENING, laundry time has been scarce and I've been recycling my vacation wardrobe and my seasonless pile to get dressed in the morning. Getting creative is a part of the rush this time of year anyway.
Shuffling through my luggage I pulled out a paisley strapless chiffon maxi that has the perfect weight for the routine NYC humidity and length for me to knot accordingly. Paired with a solid tank from H&M and a cropped denim jacket, that's actually more like vintage per it's time under my belt, which also serves as my summer blazer. I tied a plaid button down shirt around my waist because why not, right? this time, I used it to play the functions of a belt and pull everything together, greeting yet another detail to this masterpiece. I also enjoy pushing my own limits, layering completely different prints together and watching them take a life of their own is quite entertaining. Incorporating some gold jewelry into the mix added my i'm not over summer nostalgia and brought a pretty touch to much contrast. Lastly, I chose these pointy toe cap-toe's because nothing brings in a new season to the office like a good pump. With my tresses doing whatever the pillow prescribed (with some olive oil sheen ), I started NYFW with soul and poise - if I do say so myself.
Moral of the story, you can always make it work.
