What I Needed to Survive Fashion Month

Fashion Week is the sugarcoating on what actually is a Fashion Month. Festivities have come to a close and now the time is recollect. If your in my kind of business your ready to take a yoga retreat on a private island and forget about the fresh  embellishments and boyish trends from this season's designer collections. This season's collections from Lincoln Center to Paris have come and went and if virally or very physically, all our eyes were set on what designers were dictating for Fall 2016.

How did you get through it though? We all have a our safe haven amenities we need to walk from show to show and look alive just in case we bump into Bill Cunningham or a Kimye flashmob. Being a detail oriented individual, i'm into the smaller things. Here they are:

NAIL POLISH: Sitting down for a mani between your itinerary will sound like Chinese. You'll be rocking for so long you won't notice the wearing of your #fashionweek nail color. Throw it in your bag for quick coverage on a bathroom break. You want those details shots for Insta to be on #fleek from fingertip to statement ring.

Moisturizer: Cetaphil products take me from corpse to Naomi Campbell instantly. When your starving your body from it's routine refreshers like full meals and sleep, you don't want it to reap the consequences. Foundation + primer + concealer combo might not be an option but feed your canvas with a daily fix of vitamins and antioxidants it needs to be picture ready.

Signature Lipstick: Putting it on is like waking up in the morning. Natural. Normal. It's a color that is so close to your own skin it nearly is. Find your favorite color and stick with it. It's a color that isn't the kind of bold that makes a singular statement but the kind of bold that you can continue to own naturally. Being able to pair it with anything you decide to sport will make owning your look and moving quickly a down-to-a-science routine.

Walking Shoe: Mine are a pair of black booties I scored from JustFab for close to nothing that have accompanied me from Midtown to the Bronx in total grace. The heel is thick enough to support my not so narrow foot and the height fulfills my thirst to appear like a #girlboss when walking down the street. Find a style that relates back to your stylistic soul and provides enough comfort take you from front row to open bar.

Go - To Accessory: Having a set of jewels that make your tee shirt look like a million bucks and will allow your sequin blazer to shine, is a blessing that can make getting dressed before hitting the streets quite an easy, enjoyable process. For example, a midi ring set (another) has enough charm to impress and enough creative mix-ability to feel fresh on Monday and Thursday! Milan or London!

Appropriate Sunnies: a good pair makes a selfie and your morning-after the Nylon party stride look professional. Pick a pair with a standard shape like an aviator or a cat-eye in a material that's friends with prints and textures like a tortoise shell of a night-noir.

So if you traveled to Paris, just got into every general show at tents, or had your eyes glued to the screen waiting for the Miu Miu show to go live, these apply to you. Every fashion killer needs their ammo. I hope you rock and rolled your way right through!
